It took me longer than I thought to perform the operation because I wasn't aware that to get the new thingies to "pop into place," 30 pounds of pressure had to be applied. (I read that part later.)
After my first attempt, when I tried to turn my computer back on it made a noise like a car alarm. Of course I had waited until after 6 o'clock to start, and tech support was no longer around. I tried again. I tried again. Finally I shoved the tiny thingies in with every ounce of strength I had. I had thought that the thingies were very delicate, but apparently not.
My computer turned on then and was ready to go in a snap. I was frazzled and weepy and over-joyed. I went for a jog. The sun was setting. I found some glass. It was really too late to take a good photo but here I am anyway, and isn't it amazing?

You're very brave to take your computer apart, and congratulations on your success!
Way to go Linda!
xo
Sounds like me. Every time I try to fiddle with computer parts I end up arm wrestling the dang thing! :)
Oh, thank you, Polycarp & Unknown. I needed that.
Namowal, wouldn't you think that computer parts would be very fragile?
Women conquer technology!
Linda,
I break the fragile parts, and the tougher parts break me.
Blogmaid!
No, Namo, No.
Linda, I wish you had called us. Wolf is an expert at replacing parts in computers. And he stays calm throughout. Next time you need techie help, ring him. He'll even advise you to get a glass of wine to sip as he talks you through it. xo, m
And I thought I was the bomb for performing a back-up by myself. You rock.
Oh Mari!!! It would have been so comforting to have the Wolf! This is good to know. Though he was probably shooting Warren Beatty at the time.
Denise, hi! I remember when you were downloading Lion. (That was really the whole purpose of my adding more RAM.) Is there anything I should know before I download L?
Impressive!
