Special Delivery

I was getting so hungry and thirsty this afternoon. I found a big box with my name on it on the front porch, and I ate all the candy inside. But you know how you feel after you eat a lot of candy—sorry that you ate it, and even more thirsty. Then I found the bottle of Wink at the bottom of the box.

stray g. sal: Yes, it's a sketch for kids' book! Queen-of-Candy Cruikshank sent the box.

Namo: I know! That's because it was a box of 80's candy. The box--from Hometown Favorites--said in big letters: Do Not Open Unless You Were A Child of the 80's!! But I ripped into it anyway, even though I was a child of the 50's.

'tude and Barbara: Yes, obviously you both are very uncivilized. But Barbara, at least you know how to spell kyaandy properly.

Mary Ann: Good Luck!

They sent you the wrong box. I ordered Child of the 60's figuring around 1960 you were hitting your candy eating prime. We'll see-- maybe they'll send you the right one. I contacted them.

Sally: They might send ANOTHER? This would be beyond my wildest dreams. Yes, the 60's is actually when I started riding my bike to the 7-11 to hit the candy counter. I remember Chunkies and lickm-aid and trying to save up enough dubble bubble cartoons to get secret code rings and x-ray glasses. Baseball cards were a passion, too. I clothes-pinned them to my bike to make my bike sound like a motorcycle.

Where do you order "child of the 60s" candy? Was this for your birthday? Wonderful!

Stray: It was a marvelous birthday present. The box said Hometown Favorites, so I put on my gumshoes. It looks like you can order here:
http://www.hometownfavorites.com
They have candy from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's.
