Namo, you are funny. But what IS that thing? Being a parachutist, maybe you know?
A family was carrying it--it was bobbing up and down in the wind. A ranger drove up immediately in his truck, and they let go of it. It looked like an inflated bag with a fire inside. It was beautiful, like a spirit rising.
Those sky lanterns are getting popular. I think you are supposed to make a wish before you send them off. They can't be too dangerous (I hope) because they seem to sell well to eco parents who want something special for their kid's birthday. I've always wanted to see one in real life. They are beautiful. Flowers from the same family? Maybe they are Waldorf followers. ~ad

The flowers were quite a ways down the beach.
Gina, hi!
I've seen this on some ad (for ED?) on TV ~ it looks beautiful and dangerous, but glad you caught it on camera. Love the fleures...

Very enchanting. Beautiful.
Mary Ann and Anna, so you had seen this before!
When you say Waldorf, are you talking about the schools or the city? I think you mean the schools, but you can order them from a co. in Waldorf, MD:

The flowers were such a long way from where the sky lantern was released--maybe they were all for MLK Day.
Thank you, Mari.
