Vacation

Some day I'll be on board this cruise ship that floated right by this evening as we walked on the Coastal Trail.

But for now–not right now, but starting the 2nd week in June–we'll be taking a one-week vacation in San Francisco!

Have you ever been to the bay area? Do you have any suggestions for what we should do or see or eat?

You could go to the Exploratorium, have high tea at the Mark Hopkins, have honey walnut shrimp at a dive in Chinatown, go to the Muir Woods, hang out at the City Lights book store, have cioppino at Little Joe's, get your shoes shined st the stands on the sidewalk next to the Hyatt Regency on Market Street, and go to the Embarcadero on Sunday.

Polycarp: Henry would have a field day at the Exploratorium, wouldn't he.

Hey, should we meet at Little Joe's?

Sally: Ha, ha! Submarine sandwich maybe.

Lisa: I know the window washer at City Lights. He went to college with George Bush. The Musee Mechanique reminds me of the puppets you make.

Mary Ann: Have you lost your mind? Did you do that when you went on vacation? NO YOU DID NOT.

How excellent, this idea!! I big heartedly recommend the 'coffee shop' in downtown Point Reyes (it's closed one day, so good to check. I forget what it's called, but ... pft. I don't think there are more than three restaurants in the place. It's on the same side as the grocery store.) It has THE single best bread pudding in the whole world and will make you teary eyed. If I lived up there, I'd go once a week. I'd be super duper fat and I wouldn't care at all.

Oh, and City Lights, that, too. :)
