Subject: We like your book!
I am an English teacher from Penghu, Taiwan. I am now teaching in an elementary school. This year, we have a new foreign teacher, Mr. John Albert Morecock. We coteach in my fifth grade classes three times a week. He showed me your book "10 Trick-or-Treater" in mid October and we decided to use it in our 5th grade classes because Halloween is near and we happen to teach the sentence pattern " How many ~ are there? There are ~."
We told the story to the students today. I like the book very much and so do the students. I also went online to your website. It is fantastic, and I like your illustration very much.
Hope to see more of your works.

This Townsend Warbler almost brought the house down on our first morning. I didn't know if I would be able to endure staying in such close quarters with four certified bird fanatics. It was pouring down rain and Larry took this photo through the kitchen window.
A black-tailed deer that Larry shot through the living room window. (It's still raining.)
Larry, Barbara, Holly, Bill (four bird fanatics), me and Tom (normal).
We did not find ONE PIECE OF SEA GLASS our whole time in Pt. Reyes. Only sea plastic. This is Kehoe Beach plastic.

Even after the article in the New York Times (thanks, Mari!) there was still sea glass to be found yesterday. Of course it was foggy and desolate–my favorite walking conditions.
The glass is displayed on a page of the forthcoming book 10 Easter Egg Hunters. Looking for sea glass feels a lot like hunting for Easter eggs used to feel.

Look what Tammy Henderson sent! She made these necklaces, god knows how, from Facebook graffiti and other illos and–wait a minute, please. Where did that violet duck come from? It's my favorite.
Tammy's a graphic designer/printer. She runs a business in downtown Knoxville called Local Color Ink. Thank you, Tammy! I love them.

This is my new friend Gina (in blue) and my old friend Meg (in green). We all worked at 13-30 Corporation in TN 28 years ago. Facebook clued us in to the fact that we've all moved westward.
We're at the bar overlooking the ocean at the Cliff House. The Doctor, Special K, and Tom showed up too.

Am I the only one who reached down to the bottom of the bag and found a fab freebie terrycloth wristband? I ordered 7 pair, have worn one so here is my pic of the remaining six and my wristband. Thanks again for the tip!
I don't know how I found your blog, I think it was recommended to me by someone. I'm 51, live in North Beach and have been collecting beach glass for decades. Just thought I'd give you a little statistical data on a member of your "blaudience".

We start above the Cliff House. When we turn the corner, here's what we see (if the fog hasn't descended).
We walk to the "Eagle's Nest." Look what was going on in the nest this evening! They were very good; I actually set my camera up on the wooden fence and shot a video. It sounds terrific, but don't worry–I won't subject you to an embedded movie.

We've been in Tennessee visiting friends and family. This is Norma, Tom's stepmom. She's 89. As I told Janet, she drives a Jeep, leads us on walks, and cooks like a maniac. You can talk to her about anything.
In the photo she's applying green nail polish to her thumb nail.

Make no mistake. This has been the week from hell. But escaping outside for one hour before dinner usually turns out to be a good idea.
Don't get me wrong. I never want to go outside. I'd much rather lie down on the floor and play with Gina's iPad.
Two things I'm excited about: A new biography of Roald Dahl is out. A new Woody Allen movie is out.
